Whats the lowdown on creating a "federated" blog, which in my mind means:

- You can follow posts on Mastodon (though maybe they are truncated with a link to the full post on the actual blog?)
- Replies to the posts on Mastodon show up as "comments" on the blog

This is a thing right? I think hosted WordPress.com sites do this now, but I would like something that I can control the appearance of (or *maybe* self host), and have a custom domain.

Appreciate any pointers in direction 🙏

@hbuchel The ActivityPub plugin is available for self host WP instances. You can configure how posts show up when they're federated out - whether it's the full post or an excerpt, etc. It's a little buggy but fundamentally works. I haven't tested incoming comment federation yet. I can't speak for other blogging platforms. (The one I run is @angrymetalguy if you want to see an example in practice.)
